Hilary’s Burgers

Between break, work, and the new semester, my life has been pretty crazy and busy! Still managing to get to the gym and keep up my diet, but I started to introduce some new foods, while experimenting with others. Currently I am trying to make soup using my Keurig and some lentils and beans….stay tuned.

I have been loving the Morningstar spicy black bean burgers, they are delicious! However, I wanted to see if I can find a cleaner version of burgers, and I found Hilary’s Black Rice Burgers on sale. I have tried several different types, but this one has to be my favorite.

Hilary’s Black Rice Burger are not only non-gmo, vegan, and organic, they’re made with ¬†impressively clean ingredients! Personally, I love to eat them with Ezekiel bread, or cut it up and eat it with some Birds Eye Zucchini Lentil Pasta. They’re freezer friendly too, so I usually buy a few, then toast them when I am ready to feast!

They have many different types, and they also have different products like different millet medley’s, veggie bites, and even dressing. I am excited to try out some new foods and incorporate them into my diet.

Currently, I am apartment hunting and I am probably most excited to be able to cook up new recipes in my own kitchen. However, I am sure these will still find a way into my freezer because they’re not only convenient but delicious! Give them try next time you go grocery shopping, you will fall in love!

Perfect Bars

They’re creamy. They’re soft. They’re delicious. They’re the perfect bar (literally.)

Back when I started my new health journey, I saw these and decided to give them a try…I actually hated them. I don’t know if it was the texture that threw me off (back then, I was used to bars made from granola) but I actually threw the rest away! I know…it hurts me to think about it too. However, a few weeks ago, I saw them on sale at Target and decided to give them a try and I am so happy I gave them a second chance.

Not only are they non-gmo, packed with protein, full of hidden superfoods, gluten free, the list goes, but they come in different flavors and are enough to hold you over until your next meal. I joke with my roommate about my weekly “health food obsession” and these have definitely been it for the past week! In fact, they’re calling my name right now.

My only concerns are they are a bit more higher in calories and sugar than I like, for example this bar is 320 calories with 18g of sugar. However, it does have 15g of protein! Still, I am trying (key word: trying) to keep these around for when I’m craving a sweet treat!

I would still highly recommend these, as they’re as good as they say they are.
